I’m beyond words how honored I am that I was given a chance, and I was welcomed and received through my entire career with what I’ve done, and I’ve impacted people the way that I did. There is the fact that I’m extremely grateful. And again, two things are happening at the same time that are completely sustainable and intact. So when people try to talk to me like, “It’s not fair, you want to do something different,” it’s like, bro, you have no idea what it took for me to keep doing what I did. And the reason why I never said anything is because I didn’t want to taint you guy’s experience… I don’t really say anything, but I have to start accepting the reality of my reality.

So now you want me to get on stage and you want me to celebrate the songs that are the soundtrack to my trauma. I still wouldn’t do it, because a lot of my healing has to do with my timeline in this industry. If I didn’t process or start the healing process or whatever that I needed to, I still wouldn’t do it. All right.” I’m the type of person not going to ignore something that makes sense. brings things to my attention, or she’ll talk about things in ways that I wouldn’t consider it, and I’ll say, “I didn’t think about it like that. I’ve never personally been interested in the whole social media. It’s because I’m not a very publicly social individual unless I’m doing my job. I’m actually extremely supportive of Verzuz. I need for it to be clear that it’s not because of Verzuz itself. Honestly speaking, I wasn’t really thinking about doing it at all.
